About IFy Atelier

IFy Atelier is the publishing imprint of House of IFy, created as a creative studio and independent publishing space for thoughtful, culturally grounded work.

This Substack exists to bring readers closer to the inner workings of IFy Atelier and the ideas that shape the work produced under the imprint.

Through the “Behind the Curtains” section, readers are invited into the practical and creative journey of building an independent publishing house. These entries explore the realities of publishing from the inside, including the development of books, illustration work, production decisions, distribution challenges, and the wider process of establishing a small publishing imprint.

Alongside this, other sections will explore themes that influence the work and perspectives of IFy Atelier’s authors. These sections will address topics such as:

• The experience of an ethnic minority female living in Northern Ireland and the wider United Kingdom

• The experience of an ethnic minority female living in Africa

• How news, current events, and the surrounding environment influence literary work

Each section approaches these topics from a reflective and observational perspective, offering context for how lived experience, environment, and world events can shape creative work.

The intention is not simply to present finished books, but to offer readers a clearer understanding of the environments, influences, and processes that sit behind them.
